JOAN AMONIA
Joan is a bright and lively 7-year-old girl in preschool. She lives with her mother, Mirembe Janet Ruth, in Kasana. Joan’s father passed away in 2021, and after his death, the family was forced to leave their home. Today, her mother rents a small house where she raises Joan and her siblings with very limited resources.
Her mother works hard to provide, but the daily struggles of rent, food, and school expenses make it difficult to keep Joan consistently in class. Still, Joan’s love for learning shines through. She especially enjoys her mathematics lessons and has already expressed a dream of becoming an accountant one day.
Joan’s determination at such a young age is inspiring. She believes education is her path to a brighter future and a way to lift her family out of hardship. With support, Joan can remain in school, pursue her dream, and grow into the confident, capable young woman she is meant to be.
